Frequently Asked Questions.
Q: I don't think I have any problems and am not unhappy with my life. Why would I need a coach?
A: Life coaching is not just for people who are unhappy with their lives, but also for those who want to achieve more in any area of their lives.
Having a life coach helps you to keep moving forward and live your life to its full potential.
Q: But I don't have any specific goals in my life. I don't know where I want to go, I just feel stuck in a rut. Can life coaching still help me?
A: Yes! Most people do not have a clear idea about what they really want for their lives. Therefore the first few sessions of life coaching help to
establish what it is that you really want for your future, your dreams and aspirations and what needs to be in your life for you to be happy and
fulfilled.
Q: Doesn't a life coach do what friends and family can do?
A: Whilst it is important to have a good support system of loved ones, friends and colleagues, the truth is that these people, even with the best of
intentions, cannot help but have their own agenda, hang-ups and views of the world.
A conversation with a loved one or work colleague can be restrained for any number of reasons: concern for their feelings, fear of displaying
weakness or worry that the other person may not be relied upon when it comes to keeping quiet about your anxieties or your dreams. In contrast,
conversations with your life coach are in total confidence. There is nothing that you cannot discuss with your coach as they will neither criticise
nor judge. A Life Coach will listen carefully and attentively to you and unconditionally encourage you to live your best life.
Q: How is life coaching different from the other services like counselling and therapy?
A: Counselling and Therapy examines what has happened in your past, helps you to come to terms with it and look to the future free of the baggage.
Coaching establishes where you are now today and helps you clearly define your goals for the future and then helps you to devise a plan of action
that you the client can follow with confidence. Life coaching is very practical and goal orientated.
Q: What actually happens during the Coaching session?
A: During our Life Coaching session, I listen deeply and intently to what you
are saying, how you are saying it, and what you are not saying. I
offer probing questions to deepen your learning, reflection on what I
hear and what I don't hear, and a safe and confidential environment for
you to explore and grow. When you are ready to step into action, I'm at
your side offering support, encouragement, and accountability. The dynamic
of coaching involves certain qualities that you, the client, and I, your
coach, bring to each session.

Q: How long is the usual starting commitment when working with a life coach?
A: A three to six month commitment is usual for coaches to request from their new clients. Most coaches will let their clients stop immediately if
coaching is not working for them.
Q: How do I get started?
A: I am always happy to discuss any aspect of Life Coaching. Contact me now for a no obligation, totally confidential discussion to see if I can help
you. Your first session is FREE.
